Originally developed for and deployed in Iraq with the Marines, High Resolution Situational Awareness (HiRSA) is an intelligent command and control program that provides anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) operators with a persistent surveillance capability and a user-defined operating picture. HiRSA's intelligent agents integrate feeds from a variety of sensors and continuously monitor, detect, and provide warning of impending threats. Decision support modules offer recommended courses of action to operators, including remote slew of sensors and weapons.
Using high-resolution GIS terrain data, HiRSA provides a detailed, 3-D view of the battlespace to operators, whether in a command center or in the field.
The Marine Corps reported that HiRSA improves AT/FP awareness while reducing manpower requirements by 6:1.
HiRSA is scalable and adaptable to nearly any sensor, whether new or existing (i.e. legacy systems). Currently supported sensors include video cameras, radar, sonar, infrared, PDAs, still cameras, unattended ground sensors, fire alarms, and entry systems.
