21CSI Announces Sensor Planning and Optimization Tool 4.0
21st Century Systems, Inc (21CSI), a leading provider of software and technical solutions for integrated electronic security applications, announced today that it has released Sensor Planning and Optimization Tool version 4.0. This is the latest release in a series of consumer market applications completing another key step in the company's strategic plan to leverage its highly versatile software technology. Long known for creating intelligent decision-making software systems for the Federal government, 21CSI has aggressively pursued commercial markets as a way to diversify and expand its technical reach.
Sensor Planning and Optimization Tool version 4.0 delivers a complete stand alone solution for sensor placement and planning. This significant solution adds cutting-edge technology to address the current gaps in designing new security and surveillance systems and updating legacy systems. The application graphically depicts the actual coverage for each sensor (radar, camera, sonar, etc), allowing users to see the gaps in sensor coverage and determine how many, what type and optimal placement of each sensor in any given area.
“Version 4.0 provides the user a scientifically proven tool to optimize the sensor planning process. At 21CSI we try to take technology already available and use it in innovative ways to help our customers find solutions to their problems. This tool is a great example of that. It will help customers optimize their surveillance systems and provides increase cost savings by streamlining their hardware needs” says James (Kimo) Scott, The Chief Engineer at 21CSI
Sensor Planning and Optimization Tool 4.0 builds upon the proven earlier versions and utilizes available terrain and height map data for rapidly determining the optimal sensor placement. Although the types of sensors that can be integrated are unlimited, they usually include: cameras, radars, sonar, unattended ground sensors, and perimeter intrusion detection sensors.
Kyle Hildebrand, Assistant Vice President for Security and Surveillance Systems says: “The Sensor Planning and Optimization Tool version 4.0 will increase a system’s efficiency and reduce unnecessary hardware costs, as a result, creating a positive economic ROI directly affecting the bottom line. It eliminates a purely subjective heuristics based approach to sensor placement and planning with a comprehensive tool”.
21CSI provides Data Driven Decision Making® through decision support software to help operators manage complex, high-stress, rapidly changing environments through sound, computer-assisted data monitoring. Intelligent agents embedded in the systems enable the software to adapt, respond, and learn from individual users in a variety of different situations. Available online at http://www.21CSI.com .
